Large Dogs That Dont Drool

By Matthew Butler

Every home should have a dog, and every good person deserves a chance to experience this special kind of a friendship. Some people prefer smaller, while others like larger dogs. If you live in some small apartment, one large dog might not be a very good idea, but, if you have a house, one fenced yard and enough time for your new pet, just go for it.

The fact is some breeds shed extensively, and big dogs usually drool. It's not something to be very happy about, but there are some large dogs that dont drool so much. Saint Bernard, for example, is not one of them. But, there are some other really beautiful and really large dogs you will just love, and they won't make a mess.

Borzoi is probably the best option. This lovely breed looks really interesting, and weight about one hundred pounds. This dog is also unusually healthy, really tidy and even doesn't bark if it isn't really necessary. Most large breeds tend to make a real mess while drinking water, for example, but with Borzoi you won't have such problems.

Standard Poodle is also a really nice choice, even if you have problems with allergies. These lovely, intelligent dogs are quite polite, tidy and don't shed or drool, and still weight around one hundred pounds. Considering the fact they are usually clipped, they are easy to take care of and suitable for apartment living. Some crossbreeds such as Goldendoodle, for example, are also a good choice.

Fuzzy, messy and adorable Old English Sheepdogs are something hard to resist, by all means. They will make perfect family dogs, great children's companions and beautiful and funny friends to anyone. They are clever, trainable, maybe not so easy to maintain, but certainly simply irresistible. They do not have so much drooling problems as some other similar breeds.

For people who are concerned about maintenance, here is one dog that won't need much, except when it comes to his regular exercise. Doberman is easy trainable, maybe intimidating on the first sight, but really friendly and responsive. He will take a really good care of your home, protect your family members and you won't have to be concerned about drooling.

Most really large breeds do not live long, and here you can expect maybe eleven to twelve years of dependable friendship and unconditional love. Make sure to understand that some breeds are prone to certain genetic diseases. This is something you should be aware of before making your final choice. In any case, in case you don't have enough time for daily walks, find someone who will take care of it.

Find a good vet to take care of your pet's health and other things such as regular vaccination. Make sure to choose a right food for your dog, and take care not to overfeed him. When choosing your dog, be responsible. You are choosing a friend for life, not a toy. You have to know what to expect and how to deal with it. In return, you will get an unconditional love and friendship, and that is something to look forward to.
