Make sure that it is cleaned and ready to receive the decorating materials. This is done to make ensure that there is no moisture in it so that the materials will adhere to it.

Selecting tiles is a very important stage in this endeavor. Their designs and colors are the main factors to the aesthetics of the art. They make the object lively, colorful, and vibrant. Thus, they must be carefully selected in terms of the pattern and colors. Do not just settle for plain ones for choosing such will definitely make a boring piece. Its sturdiness is also important. Be sure that it can be broken down to pieces because not all types of tiles are appropriate for the activity. You can seek advice from an expert if you are doubt about the tiles you are going to choose.

Create a mosaic by breaking the tiles into pieces. All you need are the working gloves, small hammer, nipper, thick or heavy cloth or towel, protective eye wear, and a clean and flat surface to get this done. Do not smash. Instead, gently tap the tile which covered with heavy cloth until it is broken into pieces to integrate the process. Use nipper to complete the breaking process for those that are not completely broken.

Now that they are ready for adhesion, prepare the mortar powder. Mix it constantly with water until the mixture is fully incorporated. Mortar powder with thin layer and polymer will definitely produce best outcomes. Remember to use it immediately. Otherwise, it will be dry over time and its consistency will be affected or changed.

To create a mosaic design, spread the mortar paste on the back portion of every single piece and affix it firmly to the pot. The paste must be thin. The grout is made once you completely set the mortar. If you want to add color to the gray grout, an acrylic paint can be added to it. Set aside for two hours to completely dry.
