Once you do decide on getting a puppy of this breed, you will end up with either two kinds of coats or fur. This will be either a wavy wool coat that is thicker, or a thinner and less wavy fleece coat. The wavy wool coat will need more in terms of maintenance and will need to be groomed regularly. For the fleece type of wool, regular brushing is on the agenda as it is prone to matting and tangling.

As this breed is one that is created from working type dogs, it will need a lot of protein in its diet as can be derived from sources such as chicken. Also be aware of foods that it cannot eat such as chocolates, grapes and cherries. You can also ask your vet alternate sources of proteins such as from grains and plants that your dog can avail of.
