They are protectors so when they bark at strangers the owner should not be alarmed, they are built to take charge and be aggressive to anything that threatens what they believe is theirs. There are, however, some behaviors that should be reported to the vet before they get out of hand.

They are very intelligent and therefore easily trained. The training should start when they are very young so that they can adapt the lessons as they grow up, this reduces any chances of conflict in the future to minimal since the dog is aware of the things not to do.

These hounds bring companionship, friendship and a playmate which makes the home complete, they do not harm kids which makes them safer to have in the house. Their training regimes can involve aspects of the doing being a human helper thus bringing more benefits to the house. The training can be done by anyone in the family since they are friendly to all members.
