The Finer Points Of A Standard Poodle Breeder

By Jerry Burns

Human beings used to be nomadic. Humanity used to be hunter gatherers, moving from one placer to another to find food. Now, during this movement, they were vulnerable, as each animal of comparable mass was faster and stronger. If there was one thing humankind had going for it, it was its intellect. This was the intellect that allowed to them to recognize that attaching a pointy rock to a long stick would make for a great weapon. This intellect also compelled them to settle down and start growing crops and raising animals. Now, some of these animals were raised only to be consumed later. But some of these animals were raised for different purposes. Like the dog, it was not bred for its meat. Rather, they were raised because they proved themselves to be an extremely useful animal and loyal to a fault. Nowadays, when people want one, they might turn to a standard poodle breeder.

There are number of reasons that people own dogs. The first is they provide companionship, it is very hard to be alone when there is a dog in the house. Another is that they have displayed a wide variety of uses. Dogs have shown that they more than capable of tracking human beings, sniffing out illegal contraband, and even taking down hostiles and protecting their humans.

The thing about poodles is that they are seen as fussy. Blame it on pop culture making them about to be uptight and uppity. The truth of the matter is that the breed was actually bred for hunting, and even generations after being turned into a show dog, it still retains those instincts and is still highly trainable.

Poodles are medium sized. This means that they can weigh up to 70 pounds in males and 60 pounds in females. They are also over 15 inches tall.

As with any large working breed, there are some concerns. First of all, they must have as much exercise as they need. Dogs that do not get their required exercise may act out in order to vent their frustration and not being allowed to move about. Secondly, they are very open to training and their old instincts will be brought back to forefront with the right teacher.

When a person goes to work, they do so with the expectation that they will be compensated for that work with money, which they will then use to pay for goods and services. Breeders are no different. They do not peddle their wares for free. No, they expect that their customers will pay a premium price for their premium products.

Of course, the dog that is bought and sold should be healthy. No one wants to pay a pretty penny for a pet only to have to spend even more money in veterinarian bills. As such, it is best to make sure that each animal is vetted by a medical professional, if not a veterinarian, then maybe a veterinary nurse. It would also be a good idea to do some research on the breeder.

Animals without owners go to shelters, where they might be adopted. However, many do not and have to be put down to make space for new animals. The sad reality is that there are many would be fur babies who will die because no human will adopt them.

Pets are family. They can make one whole. They can even be the foundation for children.
