Find Adorable Siberian Kittens For Sale

By James Meyer

Siberian cats are the most amazing animals that will in many ways surprise you. Larger than other cats, and with totally different character, Siberians are extremely social, family oriented and really friendly to all other animals. Maybe it won't be so easy to find Siberian kittens for sale in your neighborhood, but they are most certainly worth of effort.

Siberians have strong bodies and especially strong legs, which allows them to jump high and long. They have double coats, with a dense and soft undercoat and a longer, sharper hair over. Twice a year they change the hair, so that in the winter it is longer and thicker, and in summer it is shorter. Hair does not get tangled, but regular brushing is needed.

Siberians come in different colors and patterns, and their eyes can be of different colors as well. There are no special rules about coat and eyes color combinations. Female adults are much smaller than males, and they mature really slowly, becoming adults in the age of five or so.

These cats used to live in Siberia, as hunters. As pets, they are really gentle to other animals, especially dogs and other cats. Considering their hunter's instincts, it might be a good idea to keep them away from your hamster, for example, although, they probably would not harm him. Even so, better be safe than sorry.

When it comes to an exact color of their coats, make sure to understand that it will change in time. Generally, darker nuances tend to become a little bit lighter, and the opposite thing happens with lighter nuances. Anyway, the breeder will inform you about this, as well as about all other things you should know before buying your new kitty.

Finding a good, reputable breeder is a must. Siberians aren't cheap, and there is a reason for it. Every good breeder will test all the cats for possible genetic diseases, and the kittens should be tested, too. It would be quite risky to buy a pet without some kind of a health clearance. Visually healthy parents cannot be the only guarantee the breeder provides.

Find out more about this breed before buying your kitty. Ask your breeder about the best food, as well as about the food this little thing should eat for the first few days in your home. You are allowed to change the type of the food, but gradually, to avoid stomach upset. In any case, you want to provide the best food for your new pet, and breeder's advice might be really helpful.

Prepare your home for this new family member. Find a nice basket for him to sleep in, a few nice interesting toys for him to play with, and a set of bowls for his food. Siberians enjoy playing, even fetch, and you will most certainly have a great time playing with your lovely new pet. They also really love spending time with children, unlike other adult cats.
