Last week, my mother gave my son Eric a hamster for his 6th birthday. I sort of looked at the issue with disgust, I must say. But as the days went by, that furry little point won my heart. Now, it is no longer a "point" for me now it has a name: Hanky. Hanky is really a pal. He gets quite scared when I vacuum my son's room. I take him out -in his cage, of course- to the yard.
