Kattenstoet - Cartoon cats

The Kattenstoet is a triennial parade and festival held on the second Sunday in Could. This image is from 2006 the up coming Kattenstoet will be on 10 Might 2009.
The Kattenstoet remembers how the individuals of Ieper employed to throw cats from the Cloth Hall belfry (probably to ward off witchcraft, probably just as a way of reducing a cat overpopulation issue) from the middle ages till 1817.
