With A Veterinarian Surprise AZ Animals Remain In Good Health

By Raymond Edwards

The fate of humankind and the myriad of animals that also inhabit this planet has been intertwined from the very beginning. Man cannot survive without animals. They provide food, shelter, wool, hides, comfort and even friendship. Many animals perform valuable tasks such as ploughing, carrying heavy weights and looking after other animals, such as sheepdogs do. In many parts of the world animals are still the main form of transport. With help from a veterinarian Surprise AZ animals will always be at their best.

The greed and selfishness of mankind has seen to it that animals are no longer able to fend for themselves. Their natural habitats have been destroyed and invaded. Even wildlife have to be satisfied with being confined to fenced parks and limited choices. Because man is responsible for this situation, he has to take responsibility for the care of all animals. In this regard the help of vets is very important.

In many ways it is more complex practising as a vet than it is to practise as a medical doctor. Doctors only have to deal with one species but vets have to master all the unique differences between numerous different species of animals. Providing medical care is not all that vets do, however. They also provide advice on the correct diet and other requirements of animals.

Discerning animal buyers will not dream of making a deal without consulting a vet. Breeding animals, for example, can be extremely costly and the buyer need a vet to make sure that the animal is suitable for the task it is purchased. The same hold true for pets. Vets can give valuable advice on the type of pet that will be most suitable for the environment where it will be kept.

It is a sad fact that so many animal owners do not realize just how important regular checks by a vet are. Animals cannot communicate their stress or pain and they often suffer without any visible sign. Regular checks will allow the vet to identify problems at an early stage. This will make it both easier and cheaper to treat. Getting an animal to a vet only when it is in a serious condition is an injustice.

Because there are so many differences between the organs, needs and diseases affecting different species, most vets prefer to specialize. It is virtually impossible to remain updated about all the diseases relevant to all the different species and the treatment methods for those diseases. It follows, therefore, that people that own different species of animals, say dogs and birds, for example, need to see two different vets.

Nobody should ever be given a pet as a surprise gift. Owning a pet is a big responsibility and the recipient of such an unwanted gift may not be ready or willing to accept these responsibilities. Pets should also never be bought or rescued on impulse or because thy are cute. Cute puppies, for example, grow up and they may be utterly unsuitable for the environment.

Animals have a raw deal all around. Millions of them are forced to live miserable lives and more millions eke out their very short lives in factory farms where production is king. Mankind has a responsibility towards all animals. Vets can help them in many different ways.
